Prof. K. S. Rangappa the Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore, speaking after inaugurating 'GNANOTSAV' the 8th annual day celebrations of the institutions at its campus on Saturday the 23th, 2016 near Belawadi next to MIT college of Engineering, Mysore gave a clarion call to school to focus on providing successful opportunities to students at the school to encourage them to study Science subjects and assured the school that if need be, the University will consider extending help to promote science courses in this institution. Local community should consider sending their hands to such good schools and to make the best use of the facilities offered by schools like Gnanodaya School he said.
He opined that the school should become a centre of excellence in co-ordinating with the University to create a niche for itself. The responsibility lies with the community. He suggested to the parents to admit their students to such schools to flourish in their area of interest.
Dr. Shashidhar Prasad, Ex V.C. of Mysore University and Sri. Satya Sai University of Higher learning in his key note address congratulated the school for raising the right motto – "Right to Education" and "Right attitude" and called upon the management to popularise science as quoted by the present V.C. by developing Science related courses in the P.U. University section. He informed that presently India is capable of producing good students to gear up to meet the global quality standard. He claimed that in an attempt to create positive and favourable learning consequence children should learn to engage in following, new skits and innovative practices and felt that since the school has been given an apt name "Gnana" meaning "knowledge"and "Udaya" is sun raising in the East. The school he felt should keep shining to glory always.
The Presidential remarks by the Managing Trustee of the Institution Smt. B. G. Geetha which concluded the programme with a vote of thanks by Sri Ajesh a faculty of the school.
The programme began with dedication to Dr. A,.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The children presented a colourful, enthralling programme depicting the cultural dances of different states of India and the high light of the day's programme was "Swatch Bharath" which is the call of our Indian Prime Minister and the performers were by Standard I and II students. The programme came to a close with National Anthem.

Republic Day Gnanodaya Public School &PU College

Gnanodaya Public School and Composite P.U. College Belawadi celebrated India's 66th Republic Day. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating spirit of unity, the school echoed with patriotic fervour as the National Flag was hoisted by the P.U Principal Dr.Anuradha Tiwari ,which was followed by the speech delivered by the teaching faculty Mr. Mahendra,who spoke about the Constitutional details of Indian and Ms. Tisha S. J student of 7th standard expressed her feeling of patriotism. The programme was concluded by the patriotic song "Jhanda ooncha rahe hamara" sung by the teachers. The Student and the staff of the school paid their respects to the Nations democracy.


The Gnanodaya Academy celebrated its 10 th day long annual birthday celebration of Dr.S. Rajendra the founder philanthropist of the school at smt. Parvathamma Narasiah Auditorium in the campus here on 9 th Dec-2015.
The celebration turned out to be a dazzling affair. The function began with a birthday song greeting the founder followed with a brief sketch on the life & career achievement of Dr.S. Rajendra,a distinguished educationist par- excellence. The founder was greeted by Smt. Geetha Rajendra, the Managing Trustee of the institution . The school Director- Academics Smt .Sathi Devi applauded the selfless and committed efforts rendered by the founder in safeguarding & promoting the welfare of children and his determination to revolutionalize urban education.
Dr.S. Rajendra in his birthday message gave a clarion call to students to become sensitive on the increasing challenges to peace & threat to ecology and emphasized the need to encourage students to become good human beings first which is the need of the hour.
The day's celebration ended with a variety entertainment programme of the students showcased their talents by starting the day with a prayer followed with an enthralling event with their dancing talent as also the faculty.
Ms .Sapna compared the days programme .The programme evoked joy in the heart of every gnanodaya.

Kannada Rajyostava 27 Nov 2015

Gnanodaya public school celebrated Kannada Rajyostava 27 Nov 2015 in the school premises. Guest secretary Dr.S.Rajendra and trusty geetha inaugurated the program. Children and teacher's exhibited their talent with the colourful program and sang state anthem with patriotism

"The Village " Students of kindergarten were taken for the field trip on nov 2nd - to a near by Village to show the life of people at village & to acquaint them about Domestic animals. children enjoyed & the trip was informative .

Teachers day was celebrated with full pomp and grandeur at Gnanodaya Public School on 09-09-2015.

Singing Competition

Singing Competition for Kindergarten was conducted on 15th July,2015.The Judges for the Competition were the Principal Ms. Anjum Fathima and HOD English Department Ms. Sapna.


Meeting was held at school Auditorium. Parents were acquainted with the achievements of GPS. Young and Enthusiastic team of teachers were introduced to the parents. An open meeting for the parents to interact with the Management.

Orientation for Students

Orientation program was conducted on 5-6-2014. Freshers were welcome to the family of GPS. Students were acquainted with discipline and punctuality.

Environmental Day

The ENVIRONMENTAL DAY was celebrated in the premises of Gnanodaya public school, at 11:30 am on Wednesday, the 11th of June 2014 amidst the students and the staff. Mr. Manu, the secretary of 'Hasiru Hejje 'Mysore Amateur Naturalist' was invited as the chief guest. He signified to the students and the teachers to protect, preserve and provide the natural gift of god; the environment to the posterity. The speaker informed to the students to experiment by burning green grass rather cooks food with dried wood. Thereby giving an end to deforestation. The program gained momentum when the chief guest was escorted by Ma'm Geetha to plant few saplings of 'silver oak', which were brought by the students with concern and passion. With a contented smile, a pleasing deed and delighted mind, the programme inched towards the end.

Welcoming Kindergarten

A Warm and colorful Welcome programme to Kindergarten childern on 12th June 2014 was held in the auditorioum, It helped the parents to prepare pre-k G &K G children for a positive start to their school journey. We aspired to continue making the day , a happy and a successful experience for all pre-school children.

7 th Investiture Ceremony at GPS

The Investiture ceremony of Gnanodaya Public School was held in great pomp on Friday the 11th July 2014 at the school premises in Mysore. The Assistant commissioner of Indian scouts and Guides, Sri B.K Ajay Kumar Jain, inaugurated the function in the presence of Ma'm Geetha, the Trustee of the school. The school council comprising of the school captain Ms Syeda Safura Junaid, Deputy Captain Ms Anseera P.T., Sports captain Mst Abhishek.S. and the House leaders of Pegasus, Delphinus, Lepus, Cygnus. Gnan Vignan,' 'Gnan Vichar' and 'Gnan Sanskruthi', the science club, literary club and the cultural club were inaugurated by the Managing Trustee

Renewable Energy @ GPS

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited conducted a program me at Gnanodaya Public School premises recently. The students of STD 1 to X attended the program me and were acquainted how the renewable energy is used in the daily life. KREDL gave a live demonstration of heating water, cooking food and other basic needs using solar energy. So that Non Renewable energy can be saved for next generation.

Golden ray of Friendship

As a mark of Friendship Day, Nikhil's play home children were invited to Gnanodaya public school. Nikhil Toddlers were warmly welcomed by our Kindergarteners with speech and skit -theme Friend in need is a Friend in deed. To build cordial relation of friendship , our students tied the golden band of friendship to all Nikhil toddlers. Gifts and sweets were disturbed to all campus was filled with pomp and show.


GPS celebrated the 68th Indian Independence with pride and joy in its school premises . The Tri color flag was unfurled by the senior citizens and guest Mrs&Mr.. M.K. Vishwanath. Rtd Finance Manager, BHEL. Students depicted war & Peace through dance as a mark of Independence. They also conveyed the message to the audience that ",To bring heaven on earth , We have to adopt ahimsa ,sathya & swaraj into our daily living ." Fancy Dress Competition was also conducted on the same day for pre-primary and primary children, who showcased their talents with great enthusiasm for the theme - Brides and Grooms of India , Fairy tales and also for the Social reformers and scientist of the world.


The harvest festival 'ONAM' the grand fest of the people of kerala was celebrated in very grand manner in Gnanodaya public school on Saturday ,6th sep 2014 .Events and competition were organized by by students and staff members .Flower carpet competition was conducted for the students .Four houses - Pegasus,Lepus,Delphinus &Cygnus participated in the traditional Pokka lam competition which began at 9:30am. The Lepus house got through with maximum points and bagged the first place.The formal programme began at 11:15am with lighting the lamp by the trustee Mrs Geetha B.G . , the jury Mrs Ameena Hussain Beautician, Mrs Bijili Mahadev faculty of Queens school of Fashion , Mrs Veena Goankar parent of mst Pavan Goankar were present. Ms Safura welcomed the gathering and conveyed the mythological significance of celebrating onam. The faculty was clad in the traditional attire of Kerala and sang melodiously to conclude the program. Celebration of World Peace Day

International Peace Day was celebrated in Gnanodaya Public School on Monday the 22nd Sept 2014 in the school auditorium. Swami Maheshatmanandaji from Ramakrishna Vidyashram was invited as the chief guest the secretary of the school Dr. S. Rajendra Trustee ma'am Geetha were also present. The whole of the school was clad in white colour to signify peace. The students and the staff assembled in the quadrangle to witness the inauguration of the programme was done by "setting the dove free", symbolising peace. A formal programme was arranged in the auditorium which was followed by speeches and quotations read by house representatives. The chief guest in his address narrated a stunning story of two dumb creatures which were set to fight. Contrary to the expectations, those animals started to cares each other swamiji succeeded in citing lucidly the significance of human bondage. To mark this day drawing competition was organised to the whole school.

Teachers Day Celebration

Dr S Radhakrishnan's birthday was celebrated in Gnanodaya Public School on Friday the 5th of September 2014at the school auditorium on the presence of the secretary Dr. S Rajendra and Trustee Mrs. Geetha. Students gave a floral welcome to the teachers and spoke about the qualities of a teacher which would enable them to immortalize and students entertained the teachers by conducting cultural programme.


The aroma of relish dishes was felt in the premises of GNANODAYA PUBLIC SCHOOL on Saturday the 18th of OCT 2014 paralleling World Food Day. OZONE DAY Celebration

Ozone day was celebrated in Gnanodaya Public School to bring the awareness of protecting the ozone layer. Students of Std 8th presented a MIME show to convey the message to protect the "Ozone" and also conducted a debate on 'The use of CFC gadgets is required or not'. Secretory and Trustee were present to encourage the children.


The auditorium of Gnanodaya Public School was illuminated on Tuesday the 21st of Oct' 2014 to Celebrate Deepavali. 'The Festival of lights' focusing on the lower Primary and the Kindergarten students in the presence of the Secretary Dr.S.Rajendra and the Trustee Mam Geetha. Mrs.Susheela Pal of Pals Play home and Ms.Chandrika of Shreya Play Home along with the blooming stars of tomorrow were invited to conjoin in the celebration. The program was launched with floral welcome by Mst. Pavan of Kindergarten, Ms.Shradha and Ms.Thanmay of Kindergarten inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp with the dignitaries. A skit bearing the reference from the great epic Ramayana, was performed by the Primary students which featured the welcome of lord Rama from exile to Ayodhya and also. The Story of Vamana Avatara was narrated with a description given by Mr.Raghavendra. The students entertained the audience with a dance. Parents and students are informed and guided about the pollution caused by burning crackers and the precautions to be taken during burning crackers The Trustee concluded the programme by thanking one and all.

Gnanodaya public school celebrated Kannada Rajyostava recently in the school premises. Chief Guest prof. C.V Sridhar Murthy retried Kannada professor of St Philomena's college inaugurated the program. Children exhibited their talent with the colourful program and sang state anthem with patriotism

Celebration of children's day

Children's day was celebrated with pomp and show at Gnanodaya public school Mysore on Friday the 14th of November 2014. The students were clad in colours. The program began at 11:00am the formal welcome and the inauguration of the program by the secretary Dr S. Rajendra and the trustee Mrs Geetha B.G. The day's significance was highlighted by all the language teachers. The teaching fraternity hosted skit,dance,songs,games and alsotaught creativehandicrafts to the students. Fancy dress by teachers was the main attraction of the day. Sweets were distributed to all the students.

Sports Day @ GPS

Gnanodaya public school conducted sports dayrecently in the school campus novelty games was conducted for nursery and primary students. Secondary students enjoyed track and field events .The day was ended with house wise competition. Teachers also participated in the sports events and scored maximum points for their respective houses.

Founders Day and Huthari Celebration

A magnificent and a rare combination of founders day and Huthari fest was celebrated on the 9th of DEC 2014 in the auditorium of Gnanodaya Public School Mysore. The founder of Gnanodaya Public School and the Trustee, and the entire school were dressed up to the Hines in traditional Kodava attire to mark the significance of the day. The Programme was inaugurated in a unique way, symbolising the pattern of harvest followed by the Kodavas. Dr Rajendra lit, the traditional lamp thookboleha, and cut the bunch of paddy with a decorated sickle and placed the stack in front of the place of worship Meanwhile, the teachers wearing crimson coloured kadava attire,beamed a smile and displayed the heritage produce of coorg in the form of Rice, spices, coffe bean cherry and powder,pulineer etc and then conveyed their wishes to the founder which hair raising incidence among the audiences 'Thaliyath Bolcha' and chombl neer',were also exhibited to signify the culture of Kodavas. A PPT of the evolution ofGPS was shown to the audience .The students were eagerly awaiting for the momentous celebrated of the birthday. The creative greeting cards came on line by the students to wish the secretary. Kindergarten students danced and sang birthday song and wished him to live an incredible life. Entertainment programmes were fascinating and scintillating. A skit was depicted to show the relevance of relationship. 'Kodava volaga was a real refresher for the audience where Monnappa of UKG and Nydille of class 1 initiated to dance with a kodava attire and was later joined by few teachers. The family of the founder too danced. Sump tons food was arranged and served personally by the founder. The day was awesome and amazing full of fun and frolic.

January 17th 2015 GNANOTSAV- Annual Day Celebration

'GNANOTSAV- 2015' the annual day of Gnanodaya Public School was held on Saturday the 17th January 2015, the Saturday, in the school premises amidst the august gathering with Mr.A.K Suresh,A.C.P, Mysore, positioning as the chief Guest and Dr.H.N Vishwanath, Faculty of Education, Sharadha Vilas College as the Guest of Honour,embracing distinguished guests, invitees and the parents. The School captain Ms. Safura welcomed the gathering. Ms. Anarghya of 2nd std invoked and danced to shun away all ignorance and lead further to knowledge and light. The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries along with the school Secretary Dr.S.Rajendra and the Trustee Mrs B .G. Geetha . The annual report of the school was then presented. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour gave away prizes to the toppers of the school and the P.U.College respectively. The chief Guest Mr . A. K. Suresh,A.C.P,N.R.Sub -division, spoke about the importance of understanding the fact than memorizing or scoring high marks in the examination. The Guest of Honour in his key-note address hinted to the parents about the significant role to be played in parenting the child. He further stated that education not only helps in acquiring knowledge but also enhances the overall development needed to a child. The gist of both the speakers comprised the value of education in understanding the environment around oneself in a better way, to learn to be responsible, to co- ordinate, to manage and organize, to communicate with confidence and face the challenging world. The Secretary of the school, Dr.S. Rajendra presided over the function and congratulated the Chief Guest Mr. A.K. Suresh on his promotion as a Superintendent of Police. Enthusiastic students exhibited their talents with Vibrant Cultural Programmes and concluded after the National Anthem was sung in unison.



The 12thShorim National Karate Championship 2015 organized by Okinawa Karate -Do shorimrynu . ShorimKai Association of India, was held at NanjarajaBahaddurchoultry, Metropole Circle, Mysore on the 10th and 11th of January 2015.

Eleven students of Gnanodaya Public School have Participated in the Competition and have bagged 13 prizes out of which 5 are 1st prizes, 2 are 2nd prizes& 6 are 3rd prizes

Upper Kindergarten Graduation Day

The Graduation Ceremony of the Upper Kindergarten of Gnanodaya Public School, Mysore was held recently in the school auditorium in the presence of the Secretary Dr.S .Rajendra, Trustee Mrs Geetha B.M, the renowned litterateur Dr. Latha Rajashekar, Principal Mrs Anjum Fathima, Parents and the invitees. The function began at 10.30am with a formal welcome by Ms. Twisha of U.K.G in a sagacious manner. 21 lamps, surrounded the floral carpet; signifying each student of the U.K.G were decorated and the students alighted the lamps: an assurance of hope and prosperity, after the customary inauguration of the programme by the dignitaries.
Each Student expressed lucidly about their interests, passions, profound interests, fascinating subjects etc in an inimitable way. They sought the blessings of the Secretary, Trustee, the chief Guest, Principal, Parents and the teachers. Certificates were issued to the students by the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest throughout her speech contented about the pivotal role need to be played collectively by the parents and the teachers in shaping the moral and ethical values in the lives of each individual. The Programme ended after the photo session which was followed by Vote of thanks.
